Caffe Biaggio
Welcome to Caffe Biaggio,
Caffe Biaggio is a homestyle Italian restaurant. We are your hosts, John D’Agostino and Shari Breed. John is a native of Chicago, Illinois where he owned the restaurant, Dante’s, before moving to the Cities.
Prior to Caffe Biaggo we, owned Fiori Deli & Catering, in White Bear Lake for eight years. John’s mom was known to many Twin Citians as “Mama D”, a well-known Dinkytown restaurateur in the 60’s and 70’s. I worked for her as a waitress, while I went to school at the U of M....many years ago.
Caffe Biaggio opened in August 2002. It’s named for John’s maternal great-grandfather, Biaggio.
The building we are in is the Specialty building and this space was the Specialty Manufacturing Company’s lunchroom in the 1930’s ... eventually becoming the original Ace Box Café.
Check out the photo from the MN Historical Society behind the bar!
Off-street parking is available in our lot from the Raymond Avenue entrance. During the evening hours, we have the entire lot to ourselves...so park anywhere in our lot.
We have outdoor seating on our small patio in the summer.
Thank you for coming to Caffe Biaggio. We hope you enjoy it, as much as we enjoy having you here!
